Four More Years?

Washington Post: Manugistics Fires Its President. Manugistics Group Inc. disclosed yesterday that it fired its president, as the maker of business software tries to reverse slipping sales, rising costs and a falling stock price. Jeremy Coote, who primarily ran sales and marketing for the Rockville company, was terminated last week and will leave today, according to a company filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Well, this president won’t be getting four more years. There’s more. “Executives, through a spokeswoman, said they were constrained in commenting by a quiet period before releasing the company’s upcoming earnings.” They may be constrained from commenting, but firing the President before releasing earnings tells me all I need to know. The upcoming announcement won’t be a pretty one. I’ve posted Jeremy Coote’s employment agreement on the web site along with other Manugistics contracts.

Beam Me Some Tunes, Scotty

USA Today: Homegrown Satellite Radio Software Draws XM Fire. Catching Blondie’s reunion tour broadcast at 4 in the morning wasn’t an option for XM satellite radio subscriber and single father Scott MacLean. So the 35-year-old computer programmer from Ottawa, Ontario, wrote a piece of software that let him record the show directly onto his PC hard drive while he snoozed.

Will the RIAA go after people who copy music from the radio – satellite or otherwise? I’ve posted XM Satellite contracts on the web site. You can also find Sirius Satellite Radio contracts as well as ARTISTdirect contracts.
